We were here during a slow time so the lines were short if at all-maybe 4-5 people in line for body boarding at most. If you are a runner, you have to be more inventive as the paths are short and it is located by a busy road within approx 3 city blocks. The staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable and walking paths were OK. The master had a Jacuzzi and the kitchenette included a coffee maker, microwave and a small fridge, the living room had a fireplace and the kids bathroom had a very large vanity. It was a Royal African Suite and it worked out well for our family of 5. We requested a specific two bedroom suite and they told us they could not guarantee but when we arrived that was the suite they had given us. This year we got a living social deal (and it definitely was a deal including a two bedroom suite of Kalahari's choice and indoor theme park passes). The oldest, the twins are 18 and they still find a lot to keep busy during our stay. Pros: We have been coming to Kalahari with our kids who are now teenagers for many years. In summary, the water park was a BLAST, the theme park was also a blast, the hotel room was immaculate and luxurious, the staff was very friendly, and the whole experience (besides the pricing discrepancy) was amazing. Our stay was during the off season and I can only imagine how much the room cost goes up during prime time, but you get wha you pay for. The walk from the Sands building to the water park and theme park is a long one, but enclosed so that the weather isn't a factor. The Lodge Suite room is the kind of room we would like to stay in for a week and will definitely return again. Everything was so clean and the staff was friendly beyond expectations. The decor and theme of this whole property is incredible and it feels like you are in another world. Seems shady if you ask me, but nonetheless the hotel is still amazing. Seems to me like they tried to slip one past the goalie, but I called the manager on duty that next morning and he reversed the $20 over-charge. This is especially discouraging because we stood st the front desk for over 10 minutes while the person who checked us in waited for the manager to approve the discounted rate. We decided to give it a try but were disappointed the next morning to find that we were actually charged the full rate. We spoke with a manager at the front desk and he offered a discounted lodge suite by $20 as a kind gesture for our last minute stay. It's incredible! Once we saw the water park we knew we were going to be staying another night in WI so that we could do some swimming. Late in the afternoon we decided to go tour the indoor waterpark and hotel lobby just to see what it was all about. The theme park was a blast (especially the go carts) and the theme park staff was incredibly nice and informative. We stayed at other hotels this week but stopped by the indoor theme park on our last day because it was raining and cool outside.
